Ideas for how to spend World MS Day 2016

2016 Independence
World MS Day 2016 is getting closer and every day we’re hearing about more fantastic events. We are delighted to see that our map is already filling up with activities for the MS community all over the world.

Whether you want to spend the 25th of May having fun, chatting with other people affected by MS or raising awareness, there’s probably an event happening near you. And if not, why don’t you organise one yourself? Just add it to our event page and people in your area will be able to see it and attend!

Events around the globe for World MS Day 2016

The Wellington MS community is organising a sing-along for people with Multiple Sclerosis during the whole 25th of May. They have adapted the World MS Day 2016 theme to “MS Doesn’t Stop Me Singing”!

From New Zealand we travel to the Czech Republic! Organised by the regional MS society, the Czech MS community can enjoy a petanque tournament, a concert, and witness the start of their “Weekend Marathon”.

It doesn’t end here: the Brazilian MS Society will host a party with traditional forro bands in Sao Paulo, in Lebanon there will be an awareness campaign with a musical parade and in Toronto the MS community will gather to take part in the MS Walk.

These are just some examples of events happening on World MS Day internationally. Take a look at the map and find out what’s happening near you.

If you can’t attend an event, you can still participate in the celebrations

There will be digital events, like the Twitter chats hosted by the European MS Platform and you can join thousands of others online and make World MS Day your day by printing a blank “MS Doesn’t Stop Me …” poster from our toolkit page, adding your own story and sharing it on social media. Remember to use the hashtag #strongerthanMS

We can’t wait to see your contributions!
