World MS Day 2013 in India

To mark World MS Day 2013, MS Society of India’s (MSSI) Bengaluru Chapter organised an MS Walk in Cubbon Park. Around 150 participated in the event and MSSI are proud to announce that this year they received more press coverage than ever!

MSSI’s Indore Chapter celebrated World MS Day with live music. Swarna Mategaonkar and Pune entertained the crowd of  over 500.

MSSI Mumbai organised a live music event, a bike rally, awareness raising sessions and a special event for young people to mark World MS Day 2013.

 

 

 

The New Delhi Chapter hosted a medical panel discussion with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. Also as part of the organisation’s World MS Day activities, a live music and dance event took place at a local mall with special guest director Imtiaz Ali.

 

 

 

 

In Hyderabad, World MS Day was celebrated at the City Center Mall in Banjara Hills. The Youth MS Group did the Harlem Shake to kick things off and a ‘What’s your motto?’ competition was held afterwards, followed by karaoke. The attendees also formed a human chain to mark the day.

 

The Chennai Chapter cooperated with local theatre group Theatre Y to put on a street play about MS. They also participated in two exhibitons at the Chennai Trade Centre to raise awareness.
